In keeping with the best British parliamentary practices, we ought to have a shadow cabinet in the Opposition. Here are a few suggestions:
Home – Rabri Devi
External Affairs – Sonia Gandhi
Finance – Montek Singh (he can prove that we can live on Rs 20 a day)
Transport – Vijay Mallya (his record in running an airline)
Telecom – Manmohan Singh (remember he has no cellphone)
Law, Justice and Company Affairs – Arvind Kejriwal
Agriculture – Laloo Prasad Yadav (what with the fodder scam)
SAARC and regional cooperation – AIADMK nominee
Women, Youth and Backward castes, with independent portfolio of RTI – Rahul Gandhi
Economic Affairs – Amartya Sen
Sports – Suresh Kalmadi
Communication – A Raja
Defence – Mulayam Singh Yadav (he was a wrestler at one time)
Environment – Mayavati (she is obsessed with elephants)
Very very nice, and I am sure there are a lot more. It is a long way back from here, so maybe P. Chidmabaram for Strategic Affairs (given role in Telangana etc that worked so well?)
PC has effectively retired from politics and is looking forward to many more inaugurations of banks in his erstwhile constituency.
Good one!!
