This is the 85th edition of the December Music Season for it began in 1927 with the All India Congress Session. If the origin was connected with the Independence struggle, its continuation had more to do with Christmas than with Margazhi. The High Court closed between December 24th and January 1st and it was decided to celebrate music during Christmas Week.
