And that is the end of the Season, at least for me. A friend said rather sadly that now we need to get back to mundane matters like rice, sambhar, electric motor, water in the well, toothpaste, velaikari etc. But I am jolly glad to get back. It is only by immersing myself in the mundane throughout the year that I get to enjoy the Season for two weeks.
To all those who have been following this column – A Happy 2009 with good health and happiness.
It’s been a pleasure reading your columns on the season! Waiting for the next season updates, already!!
Sir, it was a pleasure to read your records of the lec dem sessions as well as other sundry posts on the season. I hope to see continued coverage of Madras’ cultural history even after you are back to the daily grind!
Wishing you a very happy New year too!
It was a treat to read your updates on lec dems, very informative too. got to learn a lot !!. Thanks a lot!! Ur witty approach with a sense of good humour was very good. Here’s wishing u a very happy new year and looking forward for more of your columns on music !
Dear Sri Sriram,
Thankyou for the lovely coverage of Academy discussions! We look forward to next year’s discussions and your reportage! All the best fro 2009!
Thank you for your humorous and casual coverage of the lec-dems, Sriram. I have tried attending a couple of lec-dems before. and found that the presenters assumed that the audience had a level of knowledge that I didn’t have, which made it very hard to follow along. I gave up pretty quickly and stuck to attending concerts, which are enjoyable in spite of my ignorance.
Your posts provide valuable information for those of us too intimidated (and let’s face it, a little bored) by lec-dems.
Thank you for your generosity in taking the time to write up the executive summary for the rest of us. Next year, if you allow us to rate the summaries you provided, you will be able to get some feedback about which topics were most popular.
Happy New Year and very early Happy Pongal!
This is hilarious! Really good. I couldn’t stop laughing. I suggest you get it published in Sruti.

What a statement of experience and profoundity? Sometimes I wish the routine happened , so that the special or the different really means more !!
