Took these photos while a group of us visited the temple last week. It was Masi Makham and the deities were leaving for the Maha Makham tank.
The Goddess Mangalambikai was the real stunner. Apparently, TT Krishnamachari (of all people) would be moved by the way the Goddess was bedecked. This appears in SY Krishnaswami’s book, Memoirs of a Mediocre Man.
I took pics of Ganesa and Muthukumaraswami but my hand shook. Chandikeswarar came out fine.
There was quite a crowd.
