Perhaps the best you missed was “Madras in Chola times” by Dr Nagaswami the archaeologist at CPR Arts Center. Two offbeat, interesting talks for the seminar at Thyagaraja Chetty college were on “The Walers of Australia – horses bred in New South wales” by Madras Univ’s Prof Uttam Kumar Jamadigini and “What happened in Madras during Rajaji’s salt march” by Abul Fazal of Islamiah college, Vaniyambadi. QMAC’s Dr Raziya Parvin gave a tour-de-force of Tamil journalism during the war period & Prof Sakthivel of Annamalai U on Muslim politics in that era.
Your talk on Music in that era, was outstanding. Especially a delight to me was that it was in Tamil and covered the technological developments of that age, and their impact.
