A couple of years ago, good friend and heritage enthusiast S Anwar took us all on a tour of the Islamic heritage of Triplicane. One of the highlights of that wonderful morning was the visit to the Big Mosque.

For many of us, going into a mosque was a new experience and we enjoyed it thoroughly.

The fact that a nonmuslim was involved has to be highlighted as I believe this is the only mosque in the world where a non muslim has been involved . That shows the secularism that was there those days. the nawab also contributed to south temples
