Observing it from my verandah, I was intrigued to find both names to be male – Anandan weds Rathikamanogar. Is it just a case of #kogul and no spacing?
You are spot on!It is indeed a case of “kogul”.
Possibly the girl’s name is Rathiks & Manogar is her father’s name!
The “सन्धि” of the 2 names has been the cause of confusion!
Or like in the west are we too heading into same sex marriages?(hope not!)
Maybe from another persepctive, it might reveal the name to be G. Rathikamanogari. And for all you know, taking the kogul to another level, the names could be G. Anandan and H./K. Rathika….

I only wish the order of the words had been: RathikA and Anand!
And of course, with spaces between them (only on the board) 😉
Sriram, i guess the “intended” name is Radhika Manohar. I did come across a few #koguls :
#Kogul 1- Rengua for Renuka
#Kogul 2 – Sangari for Shankari
In both the cases, the names were pronounced as they were originally intended!!! Keep it coming. May its tribe grow
