Dear Friends
To commemorate 150 years of the Madras High Court, I plan to lead a heritage walk in connection with the Mylapore Festival. This walk will focus on the lives of some prominent Mylapore lawyers and judges. The walk will commence at 6.00 am outside the MCTM School (Sivagami Pethachi auditorium) on 13th January.
It is open to all and no prior registration is needed. The walk will go down Luz Church Road, into RK Mutt Road, pass by Pelathope into North Mada Street, on to East Mada Street and end on South Mada Street. It will end at 8.45 am. Then let us all have coffee at Saravana Bhavan and disperse.
It is Bhogi day and so a gas mask may be advisable (not so bad these days I am told). Please bring caps and water bottles (filled with water). Wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes. Look forward to seeing you all.
Regards
Sriram V
Thanks Sriram for this for the Mylapore Festival 2013. All info at http://www.mylaporefestival.com
ouch, came to know of this just now.. Shall try to join in.
I was lucky enough to be in town and also come to know of this tour. I was with my wife, brother in law and his wife and we all enjoyed your tour through the Mylapore Lawyers’ homes. I have heard of these extraordinary gentlemen but never had a physical reference. Thanks for the delightful narratives and please continue to have other such tours. I hope to be able to attend one such in the not too distant future.
Sriram, Fabulous, as always. I’m a big fan of your writing, as you know. But what a raconteur you are! I love the anecdotes, the candor, the relaxed, free-flowing nature of your talk and the ability to pick the right detail to inform, entertain and titillate. Here’s to many more such with you in the future!
