The Adhikara Nandi sevai is always a thrilling spectacle to watch. My tribute to Papanasam Sivan who composed Kaana Kann Kodi for this occasion and Madurai Mani Iyer who made it famous, appeared in The Hindu today-

Sriram,
Residing in California, I cannot thank you enough for the pictures. Am nostalgically transported to Mylapore. I have fond memories of my dad carrying me on his shoulders to see the gopura darshanum for Adikara Nandi. As for Mani Iyer’s Kaana Kan Kodi vendum: the unsurpassable kambhodi still echoes in our boom box!

Lovely photos.
Can some kindly only let me know what is “Adhikara Nandhi” and what does this signify?
Thanks and regards
